This book is a close examination of one of the longest enduring mysteries of the Great Lakes. On Tuesday December 7, 1909, the railroad car ferry Marquette & Bessemer No. 2. left Conneaut, Ohio, sailing into a brutal winter storm from which none would return. Over the next two days, accounts of the ship on both sides of the lake and widely scattered wreckage would add to the mystery.
