Knygos aprašymas

This book discloses the use of African fables to maximizing communicative language teaching in TEFL classroom context. It starts by unveiling an overview on ELT in Mozambique, then traces back the historical perspective of colonial education policy in Mozambique, and beliefs about the importance of fable in pre-colonial age in which traditional communities unveiled having good oral narratives. However, during the colonial era, the education policy in Mozambique led many language teachers to believe that European languages were more proficient of transmitting knowledge than Bantu languages, refraining in this way, language teachers from thinking of the importance of these traditions for Education purpose till post-colonial era. In attempt to restore and cherish the African fables for teaching purposes, the researcher objectively carried out this research to find out the usefulness of African fables as teaching aids for Mozambican Secondary Schools for an effective CLT context.
