Through a historical survey of urban dances and interviews with Physical Education teachers, the book builds a teaching plan on urban dances in the light of critical-supervisory pedagogy and official documents that regulate teaching in Brazilian public schools. Through a realistic and didactic approach, the proposed activities aim to make it possible to deal with this subject in Physical Education classes, knowing that the main reason why the teacher does not work with this content is the lack of technical mastery, which can be changed if there is a change of perspective by the teacher. Thus, it is expected, with this work, to contribute to the process of democratization of the teaching of urban dances in Brazilian public schools.
