It is important to understand the intrinsic components of violence, i.e. aggression and aggressiveness, as all violence cannot exist without these drives and modes of reaction. A person is only violent because he or she has aggression within him or her, the level of which varies greatly; secondly, the person can only be violent if he or she allows this aggression to abate and express itself.
