First published in 1916, ¿The War for the World¿ is a collection of essays by British author and playwright Israel Zangwill. Israel Zangwill (1864¿1926) was a British author and playwright. He was a leading figure in cultural Zionism during the 19th century, as well as close friend of father of modern political Zionism, Theodor Herzl. In later life, he renounced the seeking of a Jewish homeland in Palestine. He was also a prominent figure in the women's suffrage movement, and included in this volume are a number of his writings related to this subject.
