These meditations on the mystery of time are selected from sermons preached at various points in the Church's year. Biblical perspectives on time are brought to bear on contemporary time-experience so as to find grounds for hope in a time that many find perplexing and disturbing. Although most were first delivered to congregations in university chapels, the language is simple and direct and draws on the author's long experience of pastoral ministry as much as on his work as a philosopher of religion.
