The Heracleidae of Euripides is a play written by the ancient Greek playwright Euripides. It tells the story of the descendants of Heracles, who are being pursued by their enemies and seek refuge in Athens. The play explores themes of loyalty, family, and the consequences of violence. The characters include Heracles' son Hyllus, his wife Megara, and their children, as well as the Athenian king Demophon and his advisor, the seer Teiresias. The play is set against the backdrop of the Peloponnesian War, which was fought between Athens and Sparta in the 5th century BCE.
