THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN BANK JOB is the story of Magda.
Magda uses her skills to ferret out industrial secrets. When she accidentally acquires a compact disk which contains military secrets, she soon realizes that in the wrong hands it can start a war. For safety she puts it into her safety deposit box at the Commonwealth Bank.
When four unemployed, middle aged men use an old tunnel to rob the bank, they take the contents of Magda's box in addition to the bank's money.
Now, the hunt is on.
The Bank want their money back.
The police are looking for the robbers.
A terrorist group are looking for the disk.
The CIA and ASIO are looking for the disk and terrorists.
Magda wants back everything from her box.
To make matters worse, Magda is in love with the CIA agent.
