Consumption of alcohol has been in practice since time immemorial and has been a part of rituals and customs in different cultures world over. There is no civilization in the history of the world in which production and consumption of alcohol has no reference. It is believed that consumption of alcohol in moderation may not pose or represent a pathological situation but when it exceeds the limits and becomes an addiction it comes to be viewed as a social evil and a health hazard and leads to other social evils and problems. Family violence typically member when one or both spouses have been drinking, and drinking makes family violence more dangerous. Families play a critical role in mending from alcoholism. In India recently Alcohol use and abuse is a serious problem among young people. There are a number of unhealthy risks connected with it, including alcohol dependence, and alcohol related accidents and violent behavior.
