Knygos aprašymas

The five- and six-membered N-heterocyclic compounds are the core structural component found in a broad array of natural products, bioactive compounds and important synthetic intermediates. The wide range of biological activities and the synthetic usefulness give five- and six-membered N-heterocyclic compounds a privileged role in organic chemistry. Over the years, researchers have developed many strategies for the synthesis of these privileged scaffolds. This book is designed to highlight the importance of some five- and six-membered nitrogen heterocycles such as pyrrolidines, indolines, piperidines, tetrahydroisoquinolines and to discuss the various synthetic routes for their synthesis. The content of this book has been divided into two chapters. The chapter 1 of the book presents an introduction to five-membered nitrogen heterocyclic compounds viz pyrrolidines and indolines, their biological significance and the literature method for their synthesis. The chapter 2 of the book deals with the biological significance and some literature methods for the synthesis of six-membered N-heterocyclic compounds viz piperidines, tetrahydroisoquinolines.
