Knygos aprašymas

The field of sports nutrition is a dynamic field. Essential competencies in exercise physiology, psychology, integrated metabolism, and biochemistry are the initial parameters for a successful career in sports nutrition. Besides academic basics, it is imperative that the sports nutritionist understand the sport in which the athletes participate. This specific sporting meaning must be manifested in the mechanics of movement as well as in the psychological processes that motivate the athlete to perform optimally. Sports nutrition as a field has grown significantly over the last 50 years, the last ten years has seen the greatest advancement of sports nutrition, with the following areas leading most of the research: the effects of exercise on protein intake, timing of the meal to maximize anabolic responses, the potential for ribose to benefit those engaged in repetitive high-energy sports, and creatine and its uses within athletics and medicine. There seems to be a linear relationship between the nutrition part and the health condition so that, if we eat healthily and the right meals at the right time, this will lead to additional health improvements.
