Solar power generation is the pollution free power generation so it become beneficiary for the environment. Solar power generation can be integrated with the power grid. And in other way it can be an isolated power generation, in which a large battery bank has to be used for better reliability of the system. Maximum Power Point Tracking control technique can be applied through the boost converter (DC-DC Converter) for maximum power extraction from the available solar irradiance. DC-DC converters are generally used to regulate the output voltage. DC-DC converters can be controlled by two different techniques namely constant voltage and constant current controlling techniques. In this book different DC-DC converters are simulated for understanding the working and control operation for various applications. MPPT control technique is applied using Matlab/Simulink environment.
