Knygos aprašymas

Shaping Political Discourse in Cameroon Translators, Interpreters, Military and Civilians examines the role of the different actors in peacebuilding process in the two Anglophone Regions. First, it provides a brief overview of Cameroon's linguistic history, which is complex and diverse. It further analyses the challenges which translators and interpreters are bond to encounter in conflict areas, thereby appealing for adequate training for military translators and interpreters, for civil-military relations and to better understand cultural sensitivity. The book also examines the importance of translators and interpreters in ensuring that communication is accurate and effective in criminal proceedings, cooperation amongst civilians and military, and ex-combatants in DDR centers. In conclusion, there is the need to invest in the training of military translators and interpreters, not only for English and French languages, but for other lingua franca in Cameroon. For translators and interpreters are peacebuilders for any country in the path for emergence.
