Knygos aprašymas

Partial differential equations (PDEs) are one of the famous topics in mathematical analysis. They are very important for mathematicians, engineering, physicists, chemists, computer scientists, biologists, and other branches of sciences. Among these equations, their second-order kinds play important rule in the current research. Our primary objective in this book is not concerned with an elegant exposition of general theory, but rather to provide the fundamental concepts, the underlying principles, a wide range of applications, and various methods of solutions of second order PDEs. Accordingly, the purpose of the present book is to give an insight study of the second-order PDEs which have wide range of applications in theoretical physics and engineering problems. The methods of solutions and the numerical tools applied for these types of PDEs are of particular interest in this concern. We have forward our attention equally to the three well-known types of the second-order PDEs, namely: elliptic, hyperbolic and parabolic PDEs. Accordingly, we have studied one major project in each case.
