Author Brian Mortimer was born in Leeds and schooled in Doncaster. He joined the army serving for eight years, before being demobbed in 1960. After the army he then entered the Civil Service, serving as an Electronic Technician for thirty-two years, retiring finally in 1992. BrianÕs many holidays in Ireland gave him the story line for this book. Ê
