Knygos aprašymas

is xylocaine the answer? PCO is the continuing most undesired result in cataract surgery with intraocular lens implant. The mechanical techniques documented on page 34 have worked well and are still relevant. The long term future of multi-focal and accommodating lenses demand a permanently clear posterior capsule. This review documents the many pharmacological attempts and the few prospects to achieve a clear posterior capsule. Analysing 1534 uncomplicated IOL implants suggests that a controlled dose of preservative free Xylocaine may be the safe and cheap prospect in the short term and immunological methods (still unproven) are promising long term.
