The restoration of missing teeth is an important aspect of modern dentistry.Tooth loss and its replacement have significant functional and psychological consequences.Implant supported prostheses restore jaw function more appropriately, with improved psychophysiological discriminating ability and oral stereognosis. Osseointegration is a contact established between the normal and remodeled bone and an implant surface without the interposition of non bone or connective tissue. Osseointegration is a process that does not occur spontaneously. It requires careful patient evaluation, surgical planning, and prosthetic execution. Although various factors govern the osseointegration of implants, the successful management of implant dentistry depends on the meticulous diagnostic, planning and surgical skills of the operator. The operator can change the prognosis towards a better outcome.
