In the aftermath of a hotly contested presidential poll, two back to back rape cases are reported. The trauma that Aminatu and Ida are exposed to sends shockwaves throughout the country, prompting calls for action to be taken to better protect women. FIPPU, the lead women's association in the fictional West African country of Sagaal, is at the vanguard of a relentless drive to help the rape victims access justice. The praxis of FIPPU is to combat the warped patriarchal perception of women as a bunch of easy lays. The rapists are ultimately arrested and brought to book. Thanks to FIPPU, Aminatu and Ida manage to draw a line under their trauma encounter and resume their studies. Their successful entry into politics heradls a promising future for the Sagaalese woman.
