The general objective of this work is to understand the identity and subjective sense of prostitution in Venezuelan women who practice it. The research design is qualitative under the interpretative paradigm and the phenomenological method. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with women who engage in prostitution. The following questions were answered: How do women in prostitution construct the process of identity? What is the subjective sense of prostitution in the women who practice it? How is identity and prostitution understood from the subjective sense of these women? It was considered that the subjective sense of identity and prostitution is given according to each woman's own construction according to her particular, family, social, cultural and historical experiences that are defined in a specific context.
