With the continuation of research in dental field, nanoparticles and its application in several branches of dentistry has become a field of interest to various specialist.The application of nanoparticles in dentistry has helped in the production of many dental products like mouthwashes, local anesthesia, dental ceramics, coating for dental implants, fissure sealant, restorative materials like nano infiltrated GIC and composite for curing dental caries, periodontal diseases and hypersensitivity and continuing oral health maintenance. this dissertation will provide the basic structure, mechanism of action and wide applications of different types of nanoparticles in dentistry. A few notes regarding the hazards of nanpoparticles to the dentists and health auxiliaries and how to prevent them have also been mentioned.
