Society and the State have moved through various relationships as the means of linking them have evolved. In prehistory, in the absence of a socio-political organization, the iusnaturalist system was based on the "law of the strongest", the instruments of control were those that the leaders manipulated to subdue the other members of the clan. Later, in the era of bronze and iron, the sophistication of weapons allowed the emergence of the absolutist state. Thus, tribal political systems gave way to totalitarian and authoritarian states. In these regimes, the means of connection that the monarch used to govern his subjects were war devices that guaranteed the defense of the territory and the expansion of the empires.
