The laws of modern political science are the relationship between theory and history, the theory of social and political development and its history. On the one hand, political science is based on the historical experience of political life and implementation of politics, and includes a corresponding section on the history of political thought. On the other hand, representing a theoretical generalization of political history, the political science contributes to a deeper political analysis of historical facts and the historical process, in which political actors play a far-reaching role. The interrelation and interaction of political science and history find their expression in this section. Political science makes extensive use of such philosophical categories. In particular, political science uses such common approaches to the study of social phenomena as the system method, the method of structural and functional analysis, the comparative-historical method and others. Political science also widely applies sociological methods, including the method of empirical study of social phenomena, most fully and deeply developed by sociology.
