Over the years, the use of medical lasers have become so wide spread that it has grown to be the standard of care for a vast variety of medical procedures that were once performed with scalpels. Similarly with the advent of new technological advances in dentistry, the drill can also now be replaced by the Laser, introducing a new philosophy in dentistry called ¿microdentistry¿. This development in Laser dentistry has led to an increasing acceptance of this technology by both practitioners and general public. When used efficaciously and within ethical confines of lasers therapy, lasers are a new and a wonderful treatment modality for a majority of clinical conditions that dentists or dental specialists treat on daily basis.
