Agricultural production in India mainly depends upon monsoon rainfall and traditional farming techniques. One of the traditional way farmers in India study rainfall pattern is through solar constellation called nakshatra, which helps to know about atmospheric phenomena and seasons. Indian farmers mostly depend on traditional knowledge by many of the techniques by observations, experiences, theoretical way or by spiritual studies also can be recognized by some bio-indicator and non-bio-indicators. As farmer has their natural ability at judging seasonal patterns through long-standing ethno-meteorology, climate variability adaptation measure is their ability to anticipate changes in future weather condition. This study shed light on traditional meteorological knowledge in India which is used in weather forecasting. This includes physical methods, biological methods and study of constellation (nakshatras).
