Molybdenum dichalcogenides are used in a variety of catalytic processes and as lubricants under extreme conditions of heat and pressure. Due to its narrow band gap and good chemical stability, MoSe2 has been extensively used in Photoelectrochemical (PEC) solar cells for the conversion of solar energy.
