Knygos aprašymas

This book is about a research work on tomato (Solanum lycopersicon). It summarizes the research entitled "Genetic variability, correlation, path coefficient analysis and genetic divergence in tomato (Solanum lycopersicon [Mill.] Wettsd.)". Tomato is a major vegetable crop and therefore, the demand of tomato fruit is increasing for table as well as processing purpose. The genetic improvement is necessary to get high yielding varieties. Based upon this research it could be suggested that in crop improvement programme for tomato major emphasis should be given on fruit quality, fruit yield and its contributing traits. Evaluation of several genotypes is the basic tool for the selection of best one for new variety development. I hope, It will be helpful for the students and researcher in future for their research work in tomato.
