A girl is born in Calcutta to a happy well respected British family. As she matures, she develops a deep love for her homeland of India. She, like her parents, has a sense of belonging in this wonderful land. Later she becomes troubled, not by all the talk of a non-violent transition to independence, but by the desire of some to gain freedom through more violent means. Suddenly she finds herself caught up in the violence.....
