The country¿s food situation has been seriously compromised by the deteriorating natural resources due to demographic pressure and frequent droughts. By human being needs, he tries to modify the topography of the land while mechanical erosion control like agricultural practices and till types. We conduct the study on why the farmers of the region around the volcanoes do ridge-tillage everywhere and every time. This point makes us to estimate the production losses due to ridge-tillage in Busogo Sector. The main objective of this book was to find out the estimation of the production losses due to ridge-tillage: case study of Busogo Sector of Musanze District in the Northern Province. Specific objectives were to detect why the farmers of the northern region always practice ridgetillage and to estimate the production losses while ridge-tillage practicing. The study had been conducted on 68 farmers chosen by random sample in four cells. In fact, to reduce the production losses, the farmers have to leave ridge-tillage issue and carrying its requirements of land slopes. The extension agents have to diffuse the innovation. It will require the revision of innovation.
