There are over 200,000 new cases of seizures and epilepsy each year. Because neuropsychologists are frequently called upon to evaluate patients with brain tumors, stroke, traumatic brain injury, and toxic exposure (all of which may cause epilepsy), most neuropsychologists will encounter patients with seizures at some point in their practice career.
