Women groups are a common phenomenon in most parts of the world but their role in economic growth is misunderstood by many and also scantily documented. Women have for a long time been segregated by the traditional society to the role of child bearing and home making. They have been viewed by traditional societies as part of the wealth men own hence in such societies men are the sole bread winners. But women have formed women groups to enhance their wellbeing in the society. The women groups help mobilize resources among members for individual and collective entrepreneurial growth and success. Few women groups however experience entrepreneurial growth and success. The general objective of this book is to identify the factors that influence entrepreneurial success among the women groups in Makuyu Division, Murang¿a County of Central Kenya. Guided by the Timmon¿s model of group entrepreneurship, this book investigates the role of Cohesiveness, Resources and Innovativeness in entrepreneurial success among women groups.
