Chromium is an essential micro mineral and plays a major role in livestock and poultry nutrition. Several varieties of Cr exist, but Cr from yeast (Cr-yeast), Cr picolinate (Cr Pic) and chromium chloride (CrCl3) have been cited mostly for their biological activities. Chromium (Cr) is one of the transition element and occurs in valancies of +2, +3 and +6.
