Curcuma longa or turmeric is a tropical plant native to southern and south eastern tropical Asia, a perennial herb belonging to the ginger family. Perhaps the most active component in turmeric is curcumin, which may make up 2 to 5% of the total spice in turmeric.The most common chemical disinfectants which are used by dentists are alcohols, aldehydes, chlorine combination, phenols, biguanides, iodide combinations, and ammonium these chemical possess some risk .curcumin has been successfully proven as a potent antiseptic, since its organic in nature the associated side effects are limited.To overcome the drawbacks of chemical disinfectant a natural disinfectant which will full - fill the effect of chemical disinfectant and avoid its disadvantages.This study is an effort to check its efficiency for impression disinfection.
