Knygos aprašymas

General theory of relativity is the geometric theory of gravitation or it is the generalization of Newtonian mechanics (Newton¿s Three Laws of Motion) and Einstein¿s special relativity theory (1905). The Newtonian mechanics may be called the theory of absolute space and absolute time, in which absolute space, in its own nature without relation to anything external, remains always similar and immovable whereas the absolute time is the absolute true and mathematical time, of itself and from its own nature, flows equably without relation to anything external. This concept of absoluteness involved seemed to be so obvious and self-evident. These concepts therefore culminated in Newton¿s three laws of motion hence these laws of motion provide the foundation of Newtonian mechanics. As the equation of a motion of a particle are exactly same in two different frame of references, Newton¿s fundamental equations of motion are invariant under the Galilean transformations. Therefore, the laws of Newtonian mechanics do not change from one inertial frame to another, in other words all inertial frames are equivalent and this statement is called Newtonian principle of relativity.
