Knygos aprašymas

Climate change has an inevitable impact on our planet. Of the variousimpact, its impact on agriculture is pronounced. The Indian farmers have a different group based on landholding capacity. Of these different groups, marginalized farmers who hold agricultural land ¿ 1 hectare (¿ 2.5 acres) contribute significantly. Furthermore, owing to poor socio-economic conditions, illiteracy, lack of technological know-how, financial constraint, an inadequate institutional mechanism to cope with climate change makes this group of farmers is vulnerable to climate change. The paucity of literature on climate change¿s impact on this group of marginalized farmers has motivated to carry out a pan-India study to ascertain the perception of climate change, its impacts on various crops, livestock, and willingness to adapt to climate change. The findings presented in this book will assist to understand the climate change impact on this group of farmers and further will pave the way for sustainable adaptation strategies to enhance their capacity and results in the transformation of subsistence farming to sustainable farming which results in a sustainable livelihood.
