Knygos aprašymas

Worldwide, according to the United Nations Children's Fund, although vaccination saves three (03) million lives every year, nearly 20 million children are not vaccinated, putting them at risk of preventable fatal diseases, and only 20% of children under 5 years of age receive all the recommended vaccines. In Cameroon, vaccination coverage remains at a low level, compared with the recommendations made by the WHO to effectively combat EVD. The aim of this study is to identify the factors associated with the vaccination of children aged 0 to 23 months in Cameroon, in order to identify ways of increasing immunization coverage. Using data from the 2021 EPI and the 2018 DHS, descriptive statistical analysis methods and two logistic regression models were applied to achieve the set objective. Only 25.48% of children were fully vaccinated. Similarly, only 45.92% of health districts had achieved at least 80% vaccination coverage. In addition, the regularity of vaccination sessions using mobile or advanced strategies, the level of education, marital status, the relationship between parents and children were all taken into account.
