Awareness and Attitude on Gender Equality Among Men of Bharatpur

Master's Thesis from the year 2017 in the subject Health - Nursing Science - Miscellaneous, grade: 1, , course: Masters in Nursing, language: English, abstract: Gender equality is a global issue, which has increased concern of national and international organization. The world increasingly affirms that men must be a part of achieving gender equality. Indeed, changing men¿s practices and factors that encourage and shape those practices in terms of violence, health and participation in family life, are key part of the global gender equality agenda. This study aimed to assess awareness and attitude on gender equality among men. A descriptive cross- sectional design was carried out among 296 men. Non-probability purposive sampling technique was adopted to select men in selected wards of Bharatpur Sub- Metropolitan City. Data was collected by researcher herself using face-to-face interview technique on the basis of structured interview schedule. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The association between two variables was measured by Chi- Square considering p=<.05 as significant. odds ratio was calculated at confidence intervals to measure the strength of association between two variables. findings study showed that respondents belonged age group years and them were married. revealed had moderate inadequate adequate awareness on gender equality. similarly held high low equitable attitude. there statistically significant level respondent .035 likewise attitude with .002 educational .001 marital status occupation significance. concludes most men more than half however is need conducting raising program which encourages boys involve themselves in promoting equality so society can be established.>
