Atmanirbhar Bharat

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant Janta curfew and lockdown, our country and the whole world has suffered a lot in 2020 both on health front and on economic front. COVID-19 has jolted the whole world economically resulting in fall of GDP of all major countries in the world and also a large scale loss of human life. Our PM Narendra Modi being a visionary has come up with a call of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'. The English meaning of Atmanirbhar Bharat is self-reliant India or self-sufficient India. The basic idea behind this concept is making India self sustaining and self generating, an economy that can sustain itself on its own and which minimises its dependence on the outside world. While declaring the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and during the announcement of COVID-19 related economic package, PM Modiji stated that the 5 pillars of Atmanirbhar Bharat are economy, infrastructure, technology driven systems, vibrant demography and demand. Various slogans initiated under Atmanirbhar Bharat include 'Vocal for Local', 'Local for Global' and 'Make for World'. This book focusses on several important aspects related to Atmanirbhar Bharat like economy, banking, national security, self dependence, women empowerment etc. and contains views of various intellectuals and specialist on the above subjects vis-s-vis how to make India self-sufficient.
